Hey everyone! How are you all? Hope you all are doing well. Iam fine as well, keeping up with all the precautions and taking necessary care amid the pandemic. Today I came across the Gof of Sight and thought of telling you about him.

So, Dr. Sanduk Ruit is an eye surgeon from Nepal, and he is fixing one of the biggest problems in the world, OUR EYES. Many of you may not know this but, our eyes get Cataract, an eye disease that affects 90% of us. So what actually happens?

By the time we are 65, our vision gets blurry, and eventually as time passes everything thing is almost not possible to see, or it goes dark and we can go blind. People all around the world can barely drink water, barely walk and barely see because of Cataract. And this is where Dr. Ruit comes in. He went on a mission to treat Cataract in people who can't afford it. Normally a Cataract surgery would cost $200 dollars, that is 14,800 rs. But he invented a way to treat Cataract that costs only $3 dollars that is 222rs. And for this price he was able to go around the world and give treatment to people for free! 

In the remote villages, he would rent an empty hall and turn it into a hospital. Hundreds and Thousands of people come out to get treated. Many of them are poor and blind. Many of them couldn't get a doctor before,and here in five minutes he treats their eyes and gives them vision. 

All it takes is five minutes to treat livelong blindness and three dollars. Dr. Ruit has been all around the world, treating patients in China, Nepal, India and even in North Korea. So far Dr. Ruit individually treated 100,000 people. He is the first thing people saw after ages. And that's why he got the nickname “THE GOD OF SIGHT”. 

According to Dr. Ruit it is an opportunity, a privilege to make a difference in someone's life, not just an eye but to change thepaiteir entire vision and life. One his sister Yangla, who is younger to him and also very close to him died at the age of 15. And this triggered him to think and he thought that medicine is probably a branch where he can help people like his sister. 

People like Dr.Ruit are not just a god of sight, but they are the reason why Humanity is Beautiful.
