Hi everyone, how are you I hope you all are doing fine. Have you ever been to a race? Well if not then let's talk about the race that we all have known for a very long time.
Imagine that their are two teams Blue and Red. They decide that they will race together, but the Red track is clear and the blue track is filled with hurdles. Naturally, the Red players win more often. Which means that Red players are more successful, they get more sponsers. More retired Red veterans take part in bigger position in sports. Red players get more investment and training. The rules, the money, the whole ecosystem starts supporting the Red team.
Now, generations later, those hurdles are removed, the Blue teams wins sometimes loses sometimes but the Red team still holds generations of higher investments and accumulated wealth and power.
Red players have better shoes, better training better opportunities, hence more fans more support. So even if things seem equal, both the teams work hard, still the Red team will always win and the Blue team would never. As the Red team has generational support and advantage and the Blue team does not.
So the Red team players in of today do not owe their timing to their history, that's probably their hardwork and struggle. They have worked hard for what they have today. To even get that opportunity to work hard is not something the Blue team has. The Red teams podium finish is owned by their history and team privilege.
This is called Caste Privilege. Even if we assume that caste based hurdles don't exist anymore, which they do. No matter what the field their are hurdles. Let it be getting education or getting a job. Unfortunately their are hurdles for people in buying a house just because they belong to a different community itself. Removing hurdles won't remove the discrimination, it isn't enough. Because it's not just the tracks but the whole system that needs a rebuilt.
I hope you liked this race, I hope you understand what I wanted to convey through this race. And I hope we all understand what we have and what others don't. Don't think of yourself as a person from this particular caste or community, think of yourself as a human and help the other human too.
Thankyou.
