Hey guys, I am overwhelmed to receive such positive responses for my post. Thanks buddies!
So, here we go. Today I am gonna share a simple yet yummy continental dish for you all to try to stay healthy.
I know many of us have become chefs in this lockdown (lol) period and I proudly share some of the dishes that I try every day. Hope it helps few.
Vegetable Au Gratin
Actually, Au gratin is a French word means a technique in which the top has a golden brown crust used with bread crumbs or grated cheese.
I always wanted to try this recipe and finally I did it and it was a heaven on earth. Seriously guys, it is full of drowned vegetables in a creamy white sauce and tasted yummy. Okay! Enough taking, let's move into action!
Ingredients:
Method of preparation
Boil all the vegetables except capsicum with salt and keep it aside. Take a pan, add butter and allow it to melt. Then add wheat flour and roast it well. It turns to golden colour and gives out nice aroma. Use whisk to saute it well and add milk gradually. Keep stirring it to avoid lumps forming. Now add half a cup of water and mix it well.
Now add pepper, Italian seasoning, chilli flakes and salt to taste and mix it well. Add cream and cheese slices and give a nice mix. Once the liquid thickens, switch off the stove. White sauce is ready.
Now take a big glass bowl and put the boiled vegetables along with capsicum and pour the white sauce mixture on it and mix it well.
Transfer the mixture to a oven safe flat glass bowl or small mugs. Sprinkle the grated cheese above it. (Tip: You can mix the grated cheese with Italian seasoning and pepper and then top it on the mixture for the added taste). Bake it in the preheated oven on 200'c for 20 min or until the top turns golden. Mine has an auto cook menu option so I baked it in for 12 min.
Tada! Our delicious and healthy Veg Au Gratin is ready to be served! Enjoy guys. Do let me know your experience in this marvel. Stay healthy!
Note:
Cut the vegetables in a bite sized pieces.
You can any types of vegetables
Don't overcook the vegetables, it should be crunchy.
You can use Maida for whiteauce, but I prefer wheat flour for a healthy choice.
