Andrews worries to Trapper that Jia would decide to stay with the Iwi and that Andrews would have to accept it as she watches Jia interacting with them. Andrews finds a prophesy within a temple: long ago, Skar King tried to conquer the surface world and fought Godzilla's species in the process. Godzilla was successful, though, and he managed to imprison Skar King and his tribe deep within the Hollow Earth. Jia is also supposed to be essential to reawakening Mothra, according to the prophecy. Sensing Jia, Kong finds the temple and gets fitted by Trapper with a cutting-edge prosthetic arm to help with his injuries.

In order to take in the radiation from its cave, Godzilla battles the monster Tiamat in the Arctic. Kong approaches Godzilla in Cairo, hoping to entice him to the Hollow Earth to help him in combat. Godzilla becomes stronger and more powerful, but Mothra comes back to life and persuades him to support Kong. In the Hollow Earth, Godzilla, Kong, and Mothra engage in combat with Skar King, his tribe, and Shimo. After their battle takes them to Rio de Janeiro, Shimo obeys Skar King's orders to start a second Ice Age. Right up until Suko breaks the crystal that controls Shimo, the sides are evenly balanced. Once the ape is freed from Skar King's grasp, Kong breaks his icy body and Shimo freezes him, destroying him.

Following the fight, Godzilla retires to the Colosseum to rest; Mothra repairs the Iwi family's defenses; and Kong, along with Shimo and Suko, returns to Hollow Earth to assume leadership of the tribe. Jia decides to remain with her adopted mother, allaying Andrews' anxieties.
