The 2015 Telugu-language epic action movie Baahubali: The Beginning was produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni under the banner of Arka Media Works. It was co-written and directed by S. S. Rajamouli. The movie was shot concurrently in Tamil and Telugu and was created in the Tollywood style. The film, which is the first of two cinematic segments, centers on Sivudu, an intrepid young man who aids his sweetheart Avantika in rescuing Devasena, the former queen of Mahishmati who is currently imprisoned by King Bhallaladeva. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is when the story comes to an end.
The film's narrative was penned by Rajamouli's father, V. Vijayendra Prasad. A few years later, Kattappa captured Rajamouli's attention when he told him a story about a woman named Sivagami who crosses a river holding a baby in her hand. His interest in the story was piqued by his obsession with the Mahabharata and the legends of Chandamama and Amar Chitra Katha. Still, the writers needed three months to finish the final manuscript. M. M. Keeravani composed the background score and soundtrack, while K. K. Senthil Kumar, Sabu Cyril, and V. Srinivas Mohan handled the production design, VFX, and cinematography, respectively.
