Time waits for no one, everything that we do in life is controlled by time, whether we like it or not, time moves in one direction forward, it is like being in the military, where you march forward and not backwards.
This brings me to the concept of time travel, where we can travel either forward or backward in time to know more about the future in advance or to correct the mistakes of the past.
The idea of time travel can be found in numerous books television shows and movies, some of them are about the past and others about the future, the fact is that time travel continues to be a work in progress and has yet the stage of reality.
It is thought that time travel is a modern concept, this is not true, it was found in ancient times, in fact the earliest mention of time travel is found in the Mahabharata.
The question of time travel is a tricky one because we have to know the difference between travel to the past and going forward in time.
A) One way of experiencing the future would be to have our bodies preserved in a state of suspended animation. This means that we could be placed in a machine at a certain temperature and then brought back to life with the use of the technology available in the future to make this possible, this would enable us to not only see the future, theoretically it would slow down the ageing process.
B) Another way to travel to the future hypothetically, would be the use of space vehicles that can not only withstand atmospheric pressure, it could travel at hypersonic speeds that would make it easier to not only travel through time, we could visit other planets that are out of reach with the technology in use today.
C) Now, let us look at the alternative of traveling backward in time, this is interesting because unlike the future, we are aware of events that have taken place in the past and everyone has something that they want to change from their past which they think will improve their present and future.
D) Going back in time does not mean that you can change events according to your preferences because it can lead to unintended consequences and could create a completely new set of events that are beyond our control.
E) Although traveling back in time seems like fun in theory, it will not work in reality because time is irreversible, this means you cannot change your date of birth by choice and you cannot meet people who have died centuries ago, just because you want to experience the past.
F) The biggest problem with time travel assuming it were real, is the possibility of getting lost in the past or the future with no way of returning to the present.
In the end, history shows us that many ideas that were thought impossible in the past, have become a part of our daily lives, the day will come when we will have time machines that will make time travel as easy as traveling from one place to another.
