The Internet has changed our way of life, we cannot live without communication and the coming of the internet made it easier to access and share information with anyone around the world.
Whenever something is invented, there are people who accept change and there are those who do not, when the Internet was first used more than 25 years ago, it was said to change the face of technology and there were others who claimed it was a way to control our minds and was the work of evil doers.
The internet is a tool that can be used to do good or to harm others, it depends upon the individual, India like every other country has had it share of problems with the use of Internet in the country.
Another factor that we need to take into account, the gap between the have and the have nots which is known as the digital divide, its impact is noticeable because wealth is in the hands of the few and the majority struggle to make ends meet.
Here are some of the ways the Internet has changed our lives for better or for worse:
2. Access to information is a good thing but having too much information creates confusion as there are data that are not verified and each one expresses their own personal opinion which may or may not be useful to the reader.

Social media is a major reason why people spend time online, to stay connected and get to make new friends both for business and personal reasons which is revolutionary when you consider that earlier we used the telephone, meeting people in person at the workplace and social events, writing letters etc. to keep in touch.
4. The internet changed the way we travel, the availability of Google maps made it easier to find a particular location instead of driving without knowing where you are going.
5. Before the internet, paying the bills involved visiting the bank in person and a lot of paperwork, nowadays we can make payments online which saves time and it can be done as per your convenience.
6. Shopping is a major challenge because markets are overcrowded and there is no time to compare prices and get the best deals, now with online shopping we can buy what we want, when we want.
7. The internet has overtaken the television as the medium of entertainment, we can download, stream and watch movies online as per our requirement.
8. The last two years give us an idea of the impact of the internet, people continue to be employed and having a source of income because they can work from home online without having to go to office thus saving their jobs and having an opportunity to improve their skills with online training and education.
Finally, what I like about the Internet is that it is not just for English speakers, one can use Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi etc. and still use the Internet to get ahead in life.
