Being a girl, my role model always has been my father who listened to me, understood and stood with me throughout my life. In all my major decisions, he had a major role too. There has been rough days round the corner when I end up being not the perfect or expected daughter but no anger or sadness go beyond the sunset. My days start listening to his that it gives an uneasy feeling when I miss it for even a day. I never felt bad to say am a dad's girl. My freedom is intact with my dad, never held back as he supports me always.
So this poem is a dedication to all who feels that dad is source of energy despite the differences and shortcomings.
Day and night never mattered to dad
Doing any task for my sake, didn't feel bad
For my smile, he constantly strived
To my destiny with me he always drived
Not once he complained of the bumpy rides
He has to go through to see me as a bride
Never told the world about his achievements
But my tiny accomplishment, for him a ointment!!
Forgetting all his worries be smiles
Not worrying about the more restless miles
That he walks for my sake in the sun
He does miss having a own son
To bear his struggles may be a little
But never missed my tiniest giggle
Never regretted my birth on earth
Taught me what's my true worth
Even when the world put me down
Never let me me, to the world a clown
His expectations of me go beyond the universe
A holy book it is, his every verse
There are moments I let him down
With the wind I too get blown
Not staying by holding onto beliefs he taught
Forgetting how for me he has always fought
Still he stays by my side silently
Comforting me patiently and lovingly
He has wiped away all my tears
Stayed with me throughout all my crazy fears
With my dad I stay strong forever
Cause I know he will forsake me never
With him I find my peace and happiness
Let him live long, with no more sadness!!
Staying happy and healthy always!!!
My life would have been boring and incomplete without my amazing father. He has always been there for me guiding and fighting for me in this society. He made me today. I am this person so strong and confident only because he stood with me despite the unnecessary criticism by others
