While telling the word ‘water’ , the first thing which comes to our mind is that without this we can live in this water. Not only humans , all the plants , animals and even some of the microbial organisms too can't survive without water.

The chemical composition of water is H2O, that is 2 hydrogen molecules combined with an oxygen molecule. These 2 molecules can be separated by some chemical methods and the basic method used is heating. Either natural way of heating , that is by sun and the artificial way of heating is done in laboratory.

First of all,  our Earth comprises of over 70 percentage of water and 30 percent of land . And that 70 percent water comprises of over 98 percent of water is available as salt water and only the remaining 2 percent is available as fresh water which we are using regularly for our day to day purposes.

The main source of fresh water is rain which is recovered from the salt water present in the earth. The sea or ocean water is getting evaporated by the presence of UV th Ultra violet rays and it is getting captured in the clouds which are formed with the help of some gas molecules and dust particles .

If an cloud collects more water it will be overloaded and needs to be poured down as rain. Again the rain water will run into the seas and oceans after filling the lakes and ponds on Earth. This an cycling process which is known as water cycle.

Places where water is collected on the earth surface is lakes and ponds. The main difference between the lake and pond is the surface area between them. Lakes will have larger surface area than that of the ponds. The lakes are naturally formed in the earth surfaces with a large surface area. But the ponds are build by the humans according to the needs of the people over that region.

Lakes have some covering and protectionism it , but ponds doesn't have any such things. The lakes will be opened when the water level in it rose to a certain level after which the dam or the walls could be broken. The biggest and strongest dam in the Tamil Nadu is Kallanai which was build a great king in Chola dynasty which still stands even regarding a heavy rain and floods over that area.

There are seven main oceans in our Earth to feed the world's population. The biggest ocean is pacific ocean which is present near the American continent. And indian ocean is the only ocean which is named after the country India. Both the artic and antarctic oceans are present near their respective places. That is artic ocean is present near the artic continent and antartic ocean is present near the antarctic continent
