Feynman Technique is named after a physicist who was a great scientist and won a Nobel prize for his work in quantum electrodynamics in the year 1965 .He contributed in the field of science in a number of  ways like developing a diagram known as Feynman diagrams which are basically graphical representation of the math about how subatomic particles work. In addition to being a great scientist he was also a great teacher also fondly known as “ the great explainer” because he had the knack of explaining complex concepts in simplest way possible so that the greater part of students and other people can easily understand. He was able to make ordinary people understand incredibly complex concepts. Infact while he was himself learning he would tirelessly work through the equations until the concept he was dealing with was intuitively easy to understand in his mind.

The basic idea of this technique is to explain a concept to others or act like you are explaining to improve your understanding. The concept can be of any subject be it history, maths, web development. This method can be used to quickly improve one's understanding, to test one's understanding and also to challenge one's assumptions. Feynman said “ The first principle is that you must not fool yourself and you are the easiest person to fool”. This technique is the ultimate way to ensure that you actually understand all the little nitty gritty details of a concept in head.

This is a process of  four steps and the first step is to simply take a piece of paper and write the name of the topic down at the top. Step two is to explain the concept and this should be done in simple, easy to understand English so that it is as easy to understand as if you are teaching it to someone else and to make it more understandable work through the examples given you are working out this example using the concept you are dealing with. For step three identify the areas of your mistake or the problem areas then go back to the source to review those subareas and make it as strong as all the other areas. For the fourth and the final step look at your own explanation and try to figure out areas of complexity and challenge yourself to simplify it to the best of your ability. This technique simplifies your process of learning by forcing you to think deeply about any concept you are dealing with.
