We all know that school is the miniature form of society. So,the values and morals of society should be reflected into the academic system of school. In today's world of rat race the parents are pushing their children to focus only on getting the good marks on the subjects. The children are being mistaken to the view that they should give more importance on the subjects like Mathematics, Science and Technology because of their exposure to bright career opportunities. Well, I am not denying the importance of those subjects. But only academic excellence can contribute a little to be a good human being or an aware citizen. That's why the children are being introduced with a subject in the school, namely Moral Science.
Our country is bearing a tradition of great cultural heritage. Diversity adds another dimension and colour to the Indian socio-cultural design. But recently, we are facing some unwanted issues. The communal conflicts are quite evident recently. It is quite harmful for the happy heart of Indian heterogeneous ethnicity. People are becoming intolerant and the wise consideration to accept the opposite ideas are eroding day by day. And here lies the relevance of Moral Science.
Moral Science is the science of insight. It inculcates in the children the values, the right perspective about what is right and wrong, the patience to evaluate the opinion of others without being judgmental.
It is said that children's minds are like plain white sheet. So what is taught to them, will leave permanent marks on it. So,it is very necessary to mould their thought process in a positive way. The manners, the etiquette should be taught to the children since their school days. Because it enables them to cultivate their morals and ethics. The study of Moral Science helps to shape their character and build the base to come out as a confident and self reliant persons. The authenticity of a person depends on his or her ethics and moral behaviour. Most importantly, the commercial perspective of education may help you to grow as a professionally successful, but the divinity of value education will let you realise how to be at peace with yourself under the pressure of commercial life and how to make room for yourself amid the chaotic world.
