I really suggest everyone to read this book because it describes how individuals are moving them in this world. The Author explains about our life with examples here I mentioned about the key points in the book.

Three sections make up Dr. Seligman's book Learned Optimism:

The Mission
The Changing Boundaries of Life: From Pessimism to Optimism
Seligman's academic career and personal life are combined in Learned Optimism. In order to maintain the book's balance between information and readability, Learned Optimism does this by including a wealth of stories and human encounters, both triumphant and unsuccessful. We all have the chance to grow and learn from Seligman's work in order to better our families, communities, individuals, teams, and ourselves.
Our thought patterns have unintended repercussions. Pessimists tend to be more easily discouraged and dejected. Optimists excel in the workplace, in the classroom, and in sports. Optimists age well, have better health, are more likely to be elected to leadership roles, and have longer lifespans. The "Ultimate expression of pessimism" is Depression. According to Seligman, there is "No evidence that taking drugs can relieve milder depression." He also claims that depression is rarely inherited. Rather, he contends that "we can unlearn pessimism and acquire the skills for looking at setbacks optimistically" and that "Depression occurs when we harbor pessimistic beliefs about the causes of [our] setbacks."

ABCDE is the foundation of Seligman's techniques for encouraging self-talk when facing personal setbacks.

Adversity: describe the difficulties you encounter.
Belief: Identify your beliefs around this difficulty and avoid blindly adhering to your subconscious or ingrained views.
Consequence: Describe the outcome of this hardship, your feelings about it, and how you plan to constructively interrupt any negative thoughts that may arise.
Disputation: Describe how you can refute any of your pessimistic views by focusing on the available data, possible outcomes, and viable solutions. The "prime technique for learned optimism" is dispute, particularly when it comes to "disputing your automatic interpretations" of hardship.
Energization: notice the surge of energy you have when you “manage to overcome negative beliefs.”

A section on living an optimistic life finishes Learned Optimism. Nearly all optimists, according to Dr. Seligman, experience “periods of at least mild pessimism.” In order to attain optimism, Seligman clarifies:
"Learning a set of skills about how to talk to yourself when you suffer a personal defeat is the first step towards becoming an optimist." You'll discover more positive ways to talk to yourself about your failures.
