Let's start with a famous quote by Tony Payne , “Knowledge is the new rich, arm yourselves with it”. What exactly does richness here mean? Many of you must have taken it for Money, I am sure. Okay, if money then, how much? Got mixed up in figures, right?
It's high time ,we understand richness. The one who has vessels filled with gold, ends up empty if one stops growing, stops learning. You can earn money, it's actually easy. Post brainless videos on social media like lip syncing on Bollywood songs, roast people on your you tube channel or may be marry a rich guy, the list is endless. The question is what is adding value to your life and engaging you for hours? Something that you can get tired of, but can never get bored of. It could be anything, from pottery to a billion dollar business. So, does this mean we should always do what we like? Is it practically possible? The answer is a big No. Here, i'll discuss few examples that can help you to code your decisions and better execute them.
I know Pandemic is frustrating. But, you need to be mindful and choose. Ask yourself questions, yes, that's the key!! Something like, “Can you go out and enjoy the mountains in this crisis”? Your mind will lead you to the wise answer , “As of now, No”. It enters into a thought provoking state and looks for the best piece of advice for survival, “So why not accept it than to crib about it”? That's how you end confusion from your mind. One very effective way to avoid boredom is to nurture your hobbies in this time. Hobbies are mostly creative and when your creative mind activates, you are in a fantasy world. Even if it is for a small time, you can distance yourself from the harsh realities. You can call it a escape but it's a creative one. All I want to say here is, you don't need to be an erudite all the time!!
Many of you must be wanting to develop some skills, that can provide you a good pay raise. But due to lack of consistency, we lose motivation and we stop. Few days later, we again find the need to do something productive, start over, lack consistency and here you are, trapped in the same recursive loop. This can be eased by having an if else statement, where you exactly know what to do if if condition fails i.e, moving to the else one. You can keep ‘n’ number of choices, the difference is, here you exactly know which one to execute. It's easy, if→else if→else!! In order to have a good track of your choices, daily journaling is important. Write your algorithm daily before bed. Try to make the process creative. As Robin Sharma said, “Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end.” Start today, and be firm to reach the end even if you are a sibling of tortoise.
Here is a brief code that welcomes engineers!! :) To summarize, having endless goals like the endless value of pi (22/7), is one thing that keeps you alive, if not as an ordinary human being then as an inventor may be. Who knows?? ;)
Remember, goals won't always be interesting; in fact, they are mostly meant to suck our strength, inside out. But, once you accomplish them, they replenish your strength and make you stronger. You not only become skilled, but learn a lot about life such that, you don't cry over the spilled milk, because you know how to fix it.
