Hii all!!!

Have you ever wondered why Hinduism is being referred as the Sanathana Dharma more off late?

Yes, Many of us have started understanding the science behind this particular religion.

We have heard of stories where the people who converted to different religion also started following the Sanathana Dharma after understanding the science behind what our ancestors did.

Before I write about the science behind the rituals we follow, I would like to share that it is also called the Vaidika Dharma. Which means the Dharma which is followed since the ancient times. The Puranas, Vedas and  Upanishads were written in the Ancient Era. Hence, proven that it's one of the oldest form of religion.

Having known about a little what I know and that I have shared, I would like to write  a little about one particular Hymn (Stotram) in Sanskrit which was written by a prominent sage Vedavyasa. Vedavyasa also known as Vyasa has contributed a lot to his deciples. He was the one who gave the us the Vedas in the form of scripts so that it can be followed by the future generations. It is said that the Vedas were spread in the air meaning it was just a speech of mouth and not in scripts. Kudos to sage Vedavyasa for his contribution.  One of his contributions is the Great Mahabharata which is well known for the epic war of kurukshetra, has Bhagavdgita as it's part and it is a huge conversion between Arjun and Lord Krishna. They have so much of life lessons. Each and every question asked by Arjun were answered by Lord Krishna and these answers can relate to our day to day life.

Pithamaha Bhishma (Great Grand Father of the Pandavas) was defeated in the war and  After spending fifty-one nights on the arrow bed, the hero Bhishma left his body on the auspicious Uttarayana. Before his death, he gave the Vishnu Sahasranamam ( the 1000 names of Lord Vishnu). Here, Bhishma has answered 6 questions asked by Yudhishtir. His answer to all his one question the ultimate answer was Lord Vishnu.

The Vishnu Sahasranamam describes Lord Vishnu for his greatness. It mainly consists of three parts namely Poorvangam, Stotram and Phalashruti.  Poorvangam says the greatness of the Hymn written by various scholars. The main stotram consis of the 1000 names of the Lord and the Phalashruti consists of the fruits or benefits of chanting the Vishnu Sahasranamam on a daily basis.

Benefits of Chanting the Hymn:

  1. Helps when your in depression
  2. Helps people with incurable diseases
  3. Helps kids in studies
  4. Improves immunity, this happens when you chant you do a lot of breathing exercise. Improves the lungs and intake of oxygen.
  5. It Improves concentration.

I particularly wanted to write this because many of them have the benefits of the same. I had to write about Sanathana Dharma before I could write a little about the Hymn.

Thanks.

Love you all!!
