Sometime back, Rajinikanth's daughter Aishwarya called up Vishnu Vishal. Vishnu is very popular because of the craze towards South films. Aishwarya wanted him to play the lead role in her film 'Laal Salaam'. Vishnu is very careful about the selection of scripts. Aishwarya met him and narrated the script to him. They agreed to work. Then Aishwarya said softly- 'Papa will also appear in a special role in this.' Vishnu jumped for joy as it was like a dream come true for him. He later learns that Rajinikanth actually has an important role in the film. Later Aishwarya gave him another surprise. He said, "The music of the film will be composed by AR Rahman sir." After this Vishnu was on the seventh heaven. Aishwarya had already named Rajinikanth and Rahman and did not want to force them to be a part of the film. He revealed the same to Vishnu only after he agreed to be a part of the film. In this way he showed genuine respect for the decisions of others.

This Friday morning, when I was assisting guests arriving in the hotel lobby for a wedding ceremony, an incident reminded me of Aishwarya's humility. Two Americans, whose main language was English, came to the hotel to greet the wedding guests. were not involved. While checking in, he said something in an American accent, which the professionals at the reservation counter could not understand. Since I was receiving my family guests, I decided to help them and convey what they were saying in an Indian accent. The Americans didn't know that I was also a guest at the hotel. One of them immediately said, 'Oh, that's the way you guys speak, but I don't think that's the right way to speak English.' I said, 'Is it so?' The American said, 'Yes, you know many languages, on the contrary, we only know English, but we have mastered it. Although I was a little upset by his tone, I just smiled and greeted him. I remembered another incident which happened in England with Swami Vivekananda himself. During a debate, Swamiji tried to correct the English of one of his friends. The friend retorted that English was his mother tongue and he could not improve it. Swamiji smiled and politely replied, 'I know how to use this language because I've learned it, whereas you only got it.' The friend was shocked to hear this answer of Swamiji.

In the afternoon I was surprised to see the same Americans at our family wedding ceremony. Maybe they wanted to see the Indian wedding and the hotel staff requested me to let them come to the venue for ten minutes. I agreed and he was surprised when I greeted him in an American accent. There are occasions in events such as wedding ceremonies when people resist when corrected. In such a situation, humility is the best answer. This eases situations and strengthens relationships.

The bottom line is that the answers we give during an argument should be polite, so that we neither lose our balance nor end up hurting others.
