Instagram Addiction ? Does It Really Exist ?

Let's first talk about what really Instagram addition is. It is a behavioural addiction that can be termed as an uncontrollable urge to look visit Instagram and check in the new feed or other features available within short period of time interval. Although a large number of our population uses Instagram which is completely non-problematic but some percentage of the population gets addicted to continues use of the application that they engage in use of the application in excessive terms which comes out of their uncontrollable urge to surf over the application.

Discussing about if this addiction thing is real and do really people suffer from Instagram addition??? The answer is YES!

Celebrities from SELENA GOMES to MILLIE BOBBY BROWN and many others have already spoken about it and have decided to take a break from the application. It is not easy and also affects their social media presence as a celeb for them to be disconnected from such large fanbase, but sometimes it is a good decision at the right time to protect one's Mental health.

Apart from celebrities there is a large percentage of population among general public that is facing Instagram addiction. Most of these people are from the younger age group that's between 15 to 22 years of age. This Digitisation era may have provided us with many perks but is has also left behind many evils like social media addition among the youngster, such psychological behaviours tend to have a great impact on a person's overall personality development for the future.

IF YOU SEEM TO HAVE INSTAGRAM ADDICTION ITS TIME TO OVERCOME BEFORE IT TAKES AWAY YOUR MENTAL PEACE.

Analyse your behaviour towards social media platforms and if you seem to develop signs of developing addiction or the content on these platforms seem to disturb your mental health. Here are some tips to overcome them.

  1. Find an alternative activity: Activity that excites you to be engaged in and involves your concentration. Such activity may be your favourite sport, art and craft, some physical activity such as dancing, workout training and many more.
  2. Track your scrolling time : Track your time as to how much you spend over scrolling on an application and try reducing it by setting time limit targets and gradually reducing the time.
  3. Mute notifications : Notifications from these applications can be tempting as in to look for what's new or what's in there for me. Muting these notification can be of great help to avoid these platforms.
  4. Find a friend : Get yourself a friend who understands you. Talk to them about how your day was, what are your plans and other things you feel like sharing. Talking to a right person makes great difference.

So above are some tips that might help you get away from your Instagram scrolling. Try implementing them and have a sound schedule for social media like Instagram and your real time activities.
