Hot food

Hot and juicy is fantastic food point for ejoying snacks. Place environment is great. Food quality awesome. Little expensive but fineExcellent food. Menu is extensive and seasonal to a particularly high standard. Definitely fine dining. It can be expensive but worth it and they do different deals on different nights so it’s worth checking them out before you book. Highly recommended.Tibbs Frankie is probably the most famous street food chain India has ever seen. It can definitely be compared with biggies such as McD and Subway as far as it's market plan and franchise strategy are concerned. Found about 4 decades before, Frankie began its journey in Bombay before growing its branches all over the country. Frankies are nothing but Kati rolls which aren't much famous in the south. They can be easily defined as the Indian version of a wrap. Just like how Nandos has its signature Peri Peri sauce, Frankie has its own masala thats incorporated in all its dishes. Given below is my review to probably the first frankie in Chennai, the Greams Road one.
PROS:-
* Situated right next door to Fruit Shop on Greams Road, Tibbs Frankie definitely knows where to have their shops. This place has a huge crowd during the evenings. Location is a huge plus.
* The guys behind the counter are courteous and friendly. This is something we rarely see in street food shops.
* In the likes of Subway, they have two separate griddles for veg and non veg wraps including separate masala tins and vessels.
* This brings us to something we always worry about street food, the cleanliness. This place is really clean for a street side shop.
* They have a very good list of choices for both veg and non veg rolls. My favourite ones are Schezwan Chicken and Chettinad Chicken. They are made right in front of your eyes, neatly pushed into a plastic film roll that covers half the frankie and a piece of tissue. Can't ask for more, can we?
* The second picture in the menu shown in this page is wrong. These guys don't do idly or dosas. Instead they do Vada pav. This place actually introduced me to the world of Vada pavs. They even customise it with cheese.
* The price is definitely a bargain. Considering the quality of the food and the fact that it's really a filling snack, the value for money is actually mind blowing.
CONS:-
* Parking is a huge problem here. The road has enough space to park two wheelers in a row but car parking is an issue here.
* During the peak hours in the evening it takes a lot of time to get our orders. Since each order has to be done one by one and that some take away orders comes in huge quantities it takes a considerable amount of time to get our wrap.
This is definitely one of the best places to fill ourselves with something light yet filling. Moreover, since it goes easy on the wallet, this is a place that can be frequented very often. Almost all city dwellers would have tried Frankies. If you are one of those unlucky ones who haven't, I sincerely ask you to try it.
