The Great Khali
if you are an Indian, you definitely had heard this name before aur atleast once in your life but do you know how hard was the journey of this man from being a labourer in Himachal Pradesh,India in a small village.
Khali's real name is Dalip Singh Rana and his father was a farmer and mother was a house wife. He was suffering from a disease called Gigantism due to which he was abnormally growing taller, due to which he was different from his brothers and sisters only his grandfather height was (6feet 6inches) which was near to Khali.
Childhood, education and family:
His family wasn't very rich and they couldn't even pay the school fee so Dalip had to leave the school and to improve his family's financial condition he had to work as a labourer. Due to his heavy body and big height it was easy for him to pick the heavy weight.
His village people told that "wherever Khali goes people started gathering to see him, but he didn't like so much crowd."
Turn in his life:
Now there was a U-turn in his life when a police officer from Punjab came to Shimla for tourism he saw Khali and was shocked. After seeing him that officer invited Khali to join Punjab Police and even gave him some money to come Punjab.
So he went to Punjab with his small brother and joined Punjab Police.
Those days there was huge craze for wrestling all over world, and when Khali aaw wrestling for first time he was so obsessed with it and desirde to fight in WWE, even he was fit for wrestling so, Punjab Police helped him getting the wrestling training.
First fight in WWE:
Due to his large size and fit body he was invited to play in America and he fought his first match for WWE in 2000 where he defeated Undertaker in just 10minutes after which he got famous all over world
And even after that he defeated many big players like big show, Mark Henry, Batista and won WWE title.
How he got the name The Great Khali:
In his early days of wrestling he was started being called Giant Singh and some called gim Dalip Singh but he was a devotee of Mata Kali so he kept his name Kali but in foreighn countries he was pronounced as Khali so form here his name came out "The Great Khali" .
RETIREMENT:
On 2014 he retired from wrestling and decided to create an army of fighters in India to accomplish his dream he opened a branch of wrestling centre to create fighters for WWE from India.
Broody Steel's Challange:
Two foreign players Broody Steel and Mack Nocks challanged Khali that they will defeat him in his country.
So khali accepted tha challenge and they fought on 25 feb 2016 but those foreign players injured Khali using the wrong technique due to wich Khali got 14 stitches on his head .
And then on 28 feb just after 3 days he continued the fight and defeated both the players and completed his challange.

He was married in 2005 with Harminder Kaur and he is now living in Jalandhar, Punjab.
