My Inspiration from ‘Million Dollar Baby’ movie of 2004
I like watching movies and this has been a hobby since my childhood days. I have watched few English movie with my father on James Bond and other fantasy films of Hollywood.
It is when I was working in Accenture in the year 2006 and one of colleague requested to watch this movie of ‘A Million Dollar Baby’ directed by Clint Eastwood and performed by Hillary Swank. At that time I did not know who Clint Eastwood or Hillary Swank was. I was intrigued by the title of the movie and wanted to watch in the coming weekend. I bought a DVD of the movie and played the movie in the player of my television. From the beginning I was into the emotion and pain enacted by the aspiring boxer (acted by Hillary Swank) and was totally rooting for the character to win all matches.
The joy and pain potrayed by Hillary Swank was so inspiring and it made me cry at many moments in the film. The scenes with her mother and family was the most painful to watch but that was what made this movie great.
What was the best takeaway for me from this movie was the potrayal of warrior women with no superpowers but only her undying spirit and her smile. She potrayed the weakness and strength practically through her emotions in every scene.
This movie opened doors to many emotions that we go through as a warrior in every day work life or personal life and beauty of the potrayal of each emotional feeling was very practical with no exagerations that we see in a commercial movie.
There was not much of background score in this movie and the silence and dim dark scenarios was chilling. I did have admiration to film maker and actor Clint Eastwood after watching this movie and continued my search to watch his directorial films later.
To me Actress Hillary Swank performance was brilliant and I can understand why she won the Best Actress in Oscars for this movie.
It is important that we watch inspiring movie as we spend our valuable time of close to two hours and movies like ‘Million Dollar Baby’ is worth every minute of our time.
This movie will always be for me the most emotional and inspirational English movie of all time!!
It is available in Prime Video Amazon for all movie lovers to watch.
