High Protein foods and Non-Vegetarian foods are linked together quite often. Though Non-Vegetarian food indeed has high protein content it's not right to say that vegetarian food doesn't have high protein. Some Vegetarian foods are rich in protein and they are also highly Nutritious and provide healthy fats. I have prepared a list of Vegetarian food which are high in protein and are healthy for our body.

1.Nutrella/Soyabean -

Nutrella/Soyabean are one of the most nutritious and delicious vegetarian food. They are high in protein and helps you complete your protein goal.

2. Paneer -

Paneer is one of the most consumed food in India and its importance in our diet cannot be overstated. Paneer is very healthy and high in protein. It can also be made using different methods and it is one food item which you will never tired of eating.

3. Chana/Chole -

I have included Chana and Chole in the same bracket as I believe they are nearly the same. People who would know about Chana would also know of Cola and Vice versa. Chana is very healthy and low-calorie food. It can be added to a salad to make it more tasty and healthy. It can also be used as a sabji and consumed with roti.

4. Moong Dal -

Moong Dal is a literal gem of food for Vegetarian who are looking to build muscle and are avoiding Non- Vegetarian food. Moong Dal has a very high amount of protein with healthy Vitamins and Nutrients. It can be used to make a cheela, can be consumed as a dal and can be added with chana to make sprouts which is a very healthy food choice if you are planning to eat healthily.

5. Whey Protein -

Whey protein is a very good source of Protein and is a very good supplement. It is a clean source of protein extracted from milk and then converted into powder. Whey Protein has had a lot of misconceptions in the past, some people also think of it as steroids. This I believe is completely wrong and should be addressed. Whey protein is NOT steroids and is healthy for you. It is a supplement and helps you complete your protein goal. For context one scoop of whey protein is 30gms which contains 24-25gms of protein and the total calorie of the drink if mixed through water is 130Kcal.

If you agree or disagree do share your thoughts. In my next blog, I will try to debunk myths around Whey Protein.
