     Today's Blog I am gonna share about the great athlete, Oscar Pistorius. He is commonly called as “Blade runner” , “ Fastest man on no legs” . His famous saying is “ you are not disabled by the disabilities you have, you are able by the abilities you have” . He is South African, born with disabled legs (collar bone below the knee joint was not there). It was because of some genital defects. When he was 11 months old, doctors amputated his two legs. 

At first , he was playing rugby, due to serious knee injury he was introduced to running. Eventhough he had amputated legs , he was able to do boxing, skipping and doing pressups. At first he participated in many Paralympics and won gold medals . However , he was not satisfied with that, he also wanted to participate in abled racing. But the olympic committee was against that decision, he filed a case and everyone had a doubt on the artificial limbs give more advantage that the abled limbs. 

Despite many disputes and criticism, he won all the cases , proved allegations regardinh artificial limbs is wrong and then he was allowed to participate in both the games. Now he can run along with perfectly abled as well as physically disabled persons. He won in both the competitions in all the olympics starting from 2005- 2013. Until now he has won 23 gold, six silvers and one bronze. IAAF also made many attèmpts to check if he has any unfair advantage with the blades , everything has been proved wrong. 

He had a beautiful girlfriend named Reeva Steenkamp. Unfortunately on14th February 2013, Valentines day, turned out to be a black day for her and her family. Pistorius who was a inspirer too many turned out to be a murderer.He acknowledged he shot her four times, causing her death. He claimed that he mistook her of intruder at first. Psychiatrist examined him and said he has generalised anxiety disorder.

 Many organization revoked the honours presented to him, he was proved guilty and sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment. He won't be able to compete anymore. Person who won his disabilty and made impossible as a possibility is behind the bars now because of such a grave mistake. Reeva wouldn't have thought such a beautiful valentines day would be her last day. 

Being successfull does not mean that you have rights to do anything that you like. There is no rights given to anyone to take others life. Be calm , meditate, excercise, control your mind instead of controlling others.
