  • Periyar National Park

One of the most famous places visited in Idukki is the Periyar National Park. Periyar Public Park and Untamed life Safe-haven, situating in Thekkady is the ideal illustration of nature's abundance with extraordinary grand excellence and rich biodiversity. In this bewildering area of Kerala, the Periyar Public Park is considered as the most safeguarded region for the elephants and the tigers. Perhaps of the most famous public park in South India, the Periyar Public Park is set high at the Western Ghat ranges. The safeguarded region is boundless along the area of 925 sq km (357 sq mi). The remainder of 350 sq km (140 sq mi) of the center zone was announced as the Periyar Public Park in the year 1982.

The recreation area is being enhanced with a beautiful lake at the core of the safe-haven which is a counterfeit 100 years of age lake at Thekkady and is essentially known for its wild elephants and thickly settled Western Ghats timberlands. A large number of the serious valleys of Periyar contain tropical evergreen timberland with very thick tree cover with barely any sun-beams to get entered. These trees are completely developed at the astounding levels of up to 130-140 feet. A portion of the region in the recreation area contain muddy prairies close to the edges of the lake and other water bodies. Spread out across the recreation area are likewise fixes of semi-evergreen timberland utilized as significant cover by quite a few people of the creature species.

  • Anamudi Peak

It is the highest point in India outside the Himalayan mountain range.  Anamudi ,  along with Eravikulam Park, is home to one of the largest surviving populations of Asian Elephants, Gaurs and the Nilgiri Tahrs.

  • Thommankuthu Waterfalls

Thommankuthu waterfalls are a nice destination for anyone visiting Idukki. Thommankuthu is a lesser known waterfall with seven steps, famous for its picturesque surroundings and incredible jungle, and has much to offer tourists visiting Idukki, Kerala.

  •  Eravikulam National Park

Eravikulam National Park is located in the southern Western Ghats near Idukki, Kerala. The name Eravikulam translates to streams and ponds, which is the best description of the national park. The area of the park was managed as a wildlife sanctuary until 1978, when the Kerala government adopted the status of a national park.

  • Ramakkalmedu 

Ramakkalmedu is located in Idukki district of Kerala and is about 40 km from Thekkady, one of the most popular wildlife destinations in Kerala. The enchanting hilly landscape of Ramakkalmedu in the Western Ghats, which is about 16 km from Nedumkandam. Cool, green hills and the fresh mountain air make Ramakkalmedu a charming retreat.
