On the current digital era, smartphones have permeated every aspect of our life. They have changed how we interact socially, work, and communicate. Although they provide connectedness and convenience, there is growing concern about the detrimental effects they may have on our mental and physical health, as well as our capacity for focus and interpersonal connection. Here are some arguments in favour of abolishing or drastically lowering our reliance on smartphones:

Limited screen time: Constant use of cellphones can cause migraines, eye strain, and poor sleep. Our health and wellbeing can be enhanced by restricting smartphone use and cutting down on screen time.

Focus is increased: Research has found that multitasking on a smartphone might impair our capacity to focus and lower our productivity. Eliminating the smartphone can improve our ability to concentrate and boost productivity.

Improved social connections: While cellphones have made it simpler to stay in touch with others, they can also make it more difficult to build deep relationships with others. By doing away with the smartphone, we may be more inclined to interact with people in person and forge stronger bonds.

Reduced creativity: Excessive smartphone use can cause a decline in originality and creativity. We may give our brains a breather and allow our imaginations to wander without the smartphone, which will foster greater creativity.

Lessening anxiety: Anxiety and stress can be exacerbated by social media and regular notifications. We can lessen the continual barrage of information and concentrate on being in the moment by getting rid of our smartphones.

Better physical health: Constant smartphone use can cause bad posture, back and neck pain, and a reduction in physical activity. By doing away with the smartphone, we may become more active and experience an improvement in our posture and physical health.

Productivity gains: While cellphones can be helpful for work-related tasks, they can also be a distraction. Our productivity can increase and distractions can be decreased if we do away with our smartphones.

Although cellphones have numerous advantages, they can also harm our health and general wellbeing. We may boost our productivity, build stronger social ties, and improve our physical and mental health by lowering or eliminating our dependency on smartphones. Even if it could be difficult to stop using our smartphones altogether or to cut back, it's crucial to understand the advantages and give habit changes some thought.Concern over the potentially harmful consequences they could have on our bodily and mental health is growing.
