Hospital Bag Essentials- For Mumma And The Baby ๐ธ
How exciting it is for all of us to bring home our newborn. But at the same time we need to take care of all the essentials we will be needing for preping up for the big day. It's always better to pack your hospital bag within time and that would be somewhere in the mid of your eighth month.
Here is a list of all the baby essentials one needs to pack for the newborn:
- Newborn size diapers, diaper cream and wet wipes
- 2-3 soft blankets for baby's perfect sleep
- 2-3 soft towels for wrapping up the baby after bath
- Baby toiletries: Baby wash, shampoo, powder and an oil
- Formula Milk (doctor's recommended) and bottles (if you want to spoon feed then carry a baby size bowl and spoon)
- Baby clothes including: vest, warmer, onsies, booties, hats and socks. Preferably make 5-6 complete sets of all these clothes to avoid messing up. You won't be needing more than that so don't overpack.
- Burp towels
- Baby pillow - we need to keep the newborn's head a bit elevated
- Baby Bibs to use while feeding
- Dry sheets or bed protector mats.
Here is a list of all the new mommy essentials:
- Clothes you'll wear while leaving the hospital that is your home coming outfit. It must be baggy, soft, comfortable and cute so that you feel good while wearing it.
- Do invest in some comfortable cute maternity clothes in order to feel good in your skin. Feeling good is extremely important for a new mumma.
- Sanitary napkins - extra absorbent ones
- Oversized undergarment plus nursing bras and breast pads to prevent leakage
- Nursing pillow for nursing your newborn comfortably
- Comfortable nightwears, socks, a scarf to cover your head, sweatshirt, sweatpants and a cardigan or something incase you get cold after delivery
- Your makeup including hair clips, bands, lip balm, body mist, lotions, essential oils etc to feel fresh after delivery.
- Maternity belt to support your postpartum belly. Believe me this belt is a life saver
- Breast pump if you plan to start pumping the very next day after delivery
Miscellaneous items:
- Identity proof
- Your insurance if you have any
- Phone charger
- A book to read
Avoid carrying expensive items like wedding ring, jewellery, laptop, excessive cash etc. Because it's really difficult to take care of all this when you have soo much to do. So avoid the mess.
Hope this helps.
