My mom's college best friend is book lover. One day she sent me few books to read when I was a kid. One of them was book about stories of Jules Verne. The book covered few novel plots of Jules Verne but complete stories wasn't revealed. When I read first story named ‘around the world in 80 days’ I was restless. I wanted to know what happened next so badly, I went to the library and issued the book. I completed it within 24 hours and it was amazing. Before revealing plot let me just tell you about author of this book.
Jules Verne was a French Poet and Novelist know for his science fiction and fantasy genre books. He is been second most translated author in the world ranking after Agatha Christie and Williams Shakespeare since 1976. His novels are mostly adventurous in nature and explores imaginary worlds which were not discovered at the time of publication of books making him visionary and technologically advanced science fiction author of all time.He wrote about space adventures before actual space shuttle invention.
‘Around the world in 80 days’ is considered as one of the best work of Jules Verne. Phileas Fogg is wealthy man living in the London. He spend most of his day in reform club reading newspaper. He hired valet (helper) Jean Passpeportuot to handle his out of the world schedule. One day , heated argument takes place due to recent incident of Bank robbery in reform club.Fogg takes wager to travel around the world in 80 days. He leaves London in hurry with Passperortuot leading detective Fix of Scotland yards mistook him for robber due to vague description he received of the culprit. Directive Fix has not received arrest warrant yet so he has to board in steamer heading to Mumbai (Bombey of that time) as he don't want to leave them out of his sight and this journey begins.
While reading this book, you start travelling with Fogg around the world. You will be see old mumbai, kolkata, Hongkong, USA in front of your eyes.Let me tell you one interesting fun fact.
