A joyful day takes
A second to turn around
A second
It's all it takes
A family of four
Traveling to explore
Met with a notch
As a horde stood watch
Spectators were sure
That none was to be alive
And the sight was truly
Disheartening
The atmosphere filled with a cry
That rose from the inside
The cry of a small girl
As a sign of life
A crowd rushed to help
Seeing the four alive
Everyone was filled
With an unknown joy
The father and mother
Riding shotgun
Sitting aghast
Knowing not what happened
The small girl
Clinging to her brother
Crying in pain
Lay at her brother's lap
There from afar
The sound of the wagon
The mother and daughter
Travelling afar
The men looking
At the distancing wagon
The memory will never fade
Never leave their eyes
It keeps on flashing
As they ride past the notch. Hey everyone
This is a poem that I wrote based on my experience with a horrible and terrifying accident that happened when I was abroad.I'll share the whole experience so that you can visualise when you read the poem.
Well so we were coming back after two days saty at our family friends place and we took off early in the morning. It was raining cats and dogs the night before and some of the low lying roads were under water but still we could travel. On the way back we had to travel via a road build along the mountain so it was a really high road and the trench was really feel at some points along the way.
We were lucky that our car had fallen into a pit which wasn't that deep. I would say it was about twenty to twenty five feet (don't know exactly). So at first the front tires got punctured and there was a load noise which woke me up( I was sleeping on my brother's lap). Just few seconds after the puncturing of the tires I could feel that we were flying.
I was really horrified. Our car landed heavily on the pit and it started rolling sideways and my brother tried to hold me still but I didn't have my belt on so I was literally flying up and down in the back.
Few seconds later the car stoped and my brother got everyone outside. My mother was so shocked that when my brother went to help her out if the car she couldn't understand what was going on and refused to get out without her sandals. My father again was in a shock and he started calling people on his phone just saying there was an accident and ending the call.
My mom saw me at the back seat crying and then everything rushed back into her and she started crying. By then the place was filled with people trying to help out.
I couldn't stand straight because I had hurt my back and evryone panicked thinking it may be something serious. Few minutes later the ambulance arrived and I was placed in a stretcher and was accompanied by my mom to the hospital and my brother and father went to the police station.
We were all very luck that no one had any serious injury but the later days were a bit depressing for us. Everyone were scared to travel in car for a few days and mom had nightmares about the accident.
Now it's been a few years since the accident but still some memories remain
