Importance of Yogas
Seeing a horoscope is wonderful. Or is awesome. Either good or moderate/normal. or worse. Too bad. The yogas in the horoscope are used to say that.

Our Munusamis (i.e. our sages) have compiled all of them and written them down.

Yogas are of two types. Good yogas. Ava yogas

Alliance of benefic planets gives benefic yogas. Alliance of malefic planets gives malefic (avayogas) yogas.

Good parents. A good house, excellent education, good job, loving wife or husband, good children, name, fame, possessions, value, respect, influence, power, all these or at least some of them should have good yogas in the horoscope.

Apart from that, if life is miserable and poor, it will be counted as unfit. It includes poverty, physical disability, lack of education, accidents, incurable diseases, servile life, insanity or insanity or in short madness.

If Venus is exalted in Pisces in one's horoscope, Venus in exaltation will give the horoscope a luxurious life. That means he will give all the wealth and comforts. It is a rule but if the same Venus is in navamsa in the same horoscope, all the aforesaid will pour out!

But the yogas situated in the horoscope will do their work in their dasaputhi periods without pouring in.

Many yogas are mentioned in books like Brihat Jataka, Saravali etc. More than a thousand yogas are mentioned. We will look at the important yogas in order of their importance next time. They are separate subjects.

How are yogas formed?

They are formed by placing a sitting position or joint position

The word yoga is an expansion of the vernacular word yuj. Yuj means unite.

Raja means king. Rajayoga means yoga equal to a king

Rajayoga can be taken as the combination of planets that give status to the horoscope.

On the contrary, there are three types of yogas - Ava yoga, Arishta yoga and Dharitra yoga - which can do harm to the horoscope!

Ava means bad Arishta means one causing diseases Daridra means poverty

Raja Yogas also have three divisions
1. Yogas for wealth
2. Keerthi Raja Yoga (yogas for name and fame)
3. Sanyasa Rajayoga (reigning as a religious head)

Don't laugh at Raja Yoga in Sanyasa...hi.hi. There are sannyasis who have achieved siddhi to the extent that kings come and bow down. have been Take Ramana Maharishi for example. Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi visited Tamil Nadu many times and paid homage to him. Remember that

1. Dhana Raja yoga (yogas for wealth) This yoga is caused by combination or exchange of 2nd, 6th, 10th and 11th house lords.

2. Keerthi Raja Yoga (yogas for name and fame) This is due to conjunction of trigonal lords and kendra lords.

3. Sanyasa Rajayoga (reigning as a religious head) 9th, 12th, 10th and 5th lords give this yoga by conjunction or aspects.

These yogas are necessary for the Jataka to get money, fame, honor, respect and influence without hindrance.
