Masala dosa:
Masala dosa is a popular tambrahm food in Tamil Nadu. This dish is prepared with a rice paste called `` dosa'' with spicy and aromatic masalas such as channa masala (chickpea curry), kari patta (curry leaves) and coconut with sambar, often served service with rava idli / vada. Dosa can be easily prepared at home and requires very few ingredients.
Idiappam:
Idiappam or steamed rice flour dumplings is one of the favorite dishes of Tamil Nadu people. These little rice flour balls are usually filled with vegetables and spices. They can be fried or simply cooked and eaten as usual. You can make your own idiyappam at home, with just a few simple ingredients.
Koottu / Pongal:
Koottu or pongal is a famous festival celebrated in South India, especially in Tamil Nadu. This is a traditional dish made from grains cooked over an open fire and considered sacred by Hindus. It is believed that this dish has been cooked since time immemorial without electricity and other modern kitchen appliances. A special pot is used to boil the water first, then add the soaked millet and set aside to soak for about 60 minutes. On the other side, jaggery and sesame juice are melted together and then poured into the soaked breadfruit.
Then, salt and cardamom powder are added and stirred continuously until the seeds expand. In the last step, you add sugar syrup or honey and mix well. Vada Curry:
This is a dish made with red peppers, garlic, ginger, curry leaves and coconut milk.
Chana Masala | Bean Curry:
This curry has chickpeas, ginger, garlic, green peppers, coriander leaves and spices like cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, black pepper, mustard seeds, turmeric, cinnamon powder, cardamom pods , cloves, bay leaves, etc. hot or cold.
Kariveppila Vathal | Pumpkin Curry / Kuzhambu:
A popular dish from the state of Tamil Nadu, southern India. This pumpkin curry can be made with fresh or dried pumpkin. Fresh pumpkin is cooked with coconut milk and spicy sauce along with other vegetables like potatoes, potatoes, carrots, bean sprouts, tomatoes, etc. Dried squash soaked overnight then pressed cooked with water and spices. Both curries are delicious when served with Naan (Indian flatbread) and rice.
Bathing Bisi Bele:
