India's great freedom fighter and super hero Chandra Shekhar Azad was born on 23 July 1906 in a Pandit family in Badarka village of Unnao district in Uttar Pradesh. Chandra Shekhar Azad's father's name is Sitaram Tiwari and mother's name is Jagrani Devi. Chandrasekhar Azad spent his childhood in Madhya Pradesh, where he joined the Kashi Vidyapith to study Vedas as per his mother's wish. But from here he participated in the Non-Cooperation Movement of 1921.
Chandrasekhar Azad was fond of patriotism from childhood. He was very fond of Gandhi since his childhood. Chandrasekhar Azad got independence from the Jallianwalabagh massacre on 19 May 1919. After this, the freedom of the country melted in his heart. After this, in 1921, Azad participated for the first time in the Non-Cooperation Movement under the leadership of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Azad actively contributed in this campaign.
At the age of 15, Chandrashekhar Azad was punished by the English government for his contributions to the country. During this punishment Chandrasekhar was added to the name Azad. Since then he was also known as Azad. Chandra Shekhar, who was caught by the police, was produced in a court in Parsi. When the judge asked him what his name was in court, Chandrashekhar replied that it was Azad. Thus Chandrasekhar Tiwari becomes Chandrasekhar Azad. He received 15 lashes from the court as a reward for his answer that day.
Chandrasekhar Azad was a patriot who firmly believed that the liberation of the motherland could only be through armed revolution. He started working towards it at a very young age. His political entry began in 1921 with the Non-Cooperation Movement.
Dissatisfied with the non-cooperation movement of 1922, he adopted the revolutionary path. He then joined the Hindustan Republican Association headed by Ram Prasad Bsmil. After the sacrifice of Bismil, Ashfakulla Khan, Thakur Roshan Singh and Rajendranath Lahri, Azad assumed the leadership of the Hindustan Republican Association. 1928 Azad along with Bhagat Singh reorganized the organization as Hindustan Socialist Republican Association.
Azad inspired the citizens of the country for the freedom of the country and looted the British in many places. These include the Kakori train robbery (1926) and the Viceroy attempt to blow up a train (1926). He instilled patriotism in the people through many works, all of which were opposed by the British. Chandrashekhar Azad inspired people for patriotism and started campaigns with many big fighters, Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru formed the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HRSA).
Seeing Azad's revolutionary activities, the British government ordered his execution. Azad was trapped by the British government in a park located in Allahabad. February 27 was Azad's last day. Azad was martyred on February 27, 1931. He committed suicide by shooting himself. He took a vow that he would not die from the British and to fulfill this vow the brave patriot sacrificed his life.
Azad was accompanied by two friends in that park. One of them informed the police and betrayed Azad. The park where Azad shot himself was formerly known as Alfred Park. But Chandrasekhar Azad Park was built in his memory. The park also features a large statue of Azad as a memorial to him after his death, which remains in Pragraj today. Azad continues to be a source of inspiration for people even today. Azad is still revered today. The free country we enjoy today is due to the sacrifice of many men like Azad. Heroes like Chandrasekhar have made important contributions to the freedom of this country.
