Empty Nest | After Kids Leave | Creating A New Normal

When children are sleeping or doing something really good, parents often go to the thought when these innocent babies grew up, decide their career and leave home to pursue their own dreams !! what about us/me ?!

The term empty nest was compared with bird cycle. A bird is termed as “NIDIFIGOUS” where birds leave the nest after hatching/birth. while the teenagers are by no means so quick they depart.

EMPTY NEST
  • Our whole life revolves around the kids right ? majority of the people are young parents. Have you ever think about life without kids ? What will happen when they leave home for college or work !!
  • We prepare most of the dishes according to them/ what they like the most. After all these years, will we change the level of spicy / try new dishes ?
  • What will we do all day home ? binge watch, develop new skill/hobby/any work ?
  • Of course we will have a great conversation with our partners/ friends finally, since we have a lot of time.
  • About fun ? let live the child inside you through out your life. Have your time as a couple apart from children things daily. be fit and healthy so that you can make fun at that age also!!! apart from reading newspaper or scrolling down the news feed.
  • “Your child's life will be filled with fresh experiences. It's good if your's as well”
For their own goals

CREATING NEW NORMAL

  • Everyone should make transition from their own dream job of being a full-time mother, engineer, teacher, employee, nurse, to that of an empty nester. Some activities to boost you
  1. Do exercise/ yoga/self-care.
  2. practice something artful (bake, cook, paint).
  3. Enroll yourself in college and complete your master's.
  4. Plan road trips.
  5. Plan romantic getaways with your partner/trips with friends/family
  6. Read books/novels.

Parents should profound sense of accomplishment. After all you did your role as a parent. But if, instead you feel lonely/ feeling of grief you might experience empty nest syndrome.

My advice for parents who are dealing with an empty nest,

  • Remember, it's not end of your story. It's the beginning of new one-one you get to create.
  • Invest in your time. Sooner, you will get to know your empty nest is now loving, lively and busy home again.
  • "You see much more of your children after they leave home"

WITH ANY LUCK, YOU WILL BE INSPIRED TO BEGIN LIVING YOUR BEST LIFE.
