1. An election scene.
India is a democratic country. The people elect their representatives to run the affairs of the government. In our country elections are held every five years.
The scene before the election is full of hue and cry. The different candidates file their nomination at the district head quarters. After the nominations convincing are carried through loudspeakers, handbills, wall posters. Many famous leaders come to address to the people and appeal for their candidates.
There are many camps of different political parties outside the polling booth. The people can get their voting slips from these camps.
A Strict discipline is maintained inside the polling booth. Long queues are seen at the polling booth. The voters enter the both one by one and cast their votes. The election starts at 7 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m.
2. Problem of over population in India
India is a facing great danger of over population. The population in India is over hundred crores. It is increasing every minute.
The over population problem has given birth to many evils. The cities are overcrowded. Their expansion has lead to deforestation which has affected environment. Due to over population, there is a serious problem of population.
Over population has caused storage of food. People are starving. Prices are soaring high. There is no shortage of houses to live in and this has created many social problems. Kidnapping, raping and love marriages are rampaint.
The problem of unemployment problem is the result of over population. The youths of the country are unemployed. They go astray from the right path and become criminals.
General awareness is essential to control birth rate.
3. Scene at railway station
Last Sunday I had an opportunity to see off my sister who was leaving for Mumbay by train. I went to the railway station to see her off.
The platform was crowded with people. Passengers in a large number had gathered there. Sikhs, Muslims, Christians from all parts of the country was seen there. They were speaking in their own mothers tongues. Village women were in their loose clothes.
There were hawkers on the platform. They were selling wares crying loudly. Coollies were carrying the luggage.
After some time the train arrived. Everybody on the platform began to run this way or that way as soon as the train stopped. There was great hustle and bustle. Everybody was seen in the fever of excitement. My sister got first class ticket. So we did not find any difficulty in getting into the train.
After a while the train is started. I returned home by a rickshaw.
