Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it, possibly without claiming it, she stands up for all the women.
Feminism by definition means the belief that man and woman should be treated equally, they should be having equal opportunities. It is not about lowering the man but about bringing the male and female to the same level. It is about questioning the patriarchy, the toxic masculinity and it is about questioning the mentality that people are having of the women's position.
The very existence of man has started in the woman's body and now I think it is irrational to differentiate on a simple biological factor that whether you are a male or a female. There used to be a time when masculinity does had some role like hunting etc. But now the technology has replaced that and now people should be judged on the basis of intelligence, creativity, innovation, etc.
When you are walking on a road, why should you bother whether the person who is walking on the road is a male or a female? Can't you just treat a woman as a human being because she is not a different species? She is as human as a male.
And those who say that these feminists are the unsuccessful women who are shouting because they are not successful. So, I would like to say that according to World Economic Forum's 2021 Global Gender Report says that it will take an average of 135.6 years to achieve gender equality completely. Now you can imagine the detrimental after-effects of a patriarchal society where female foeticide used to happen and women were not allowed to study.
Now, people ask me that what can we do now? I say that firstly, divide the domestic work equally, promote social equality, break the glass ceiling and break this myth of beauty, etc. because it is not about appearance but about behavior.
But now, the times are changing and positive change is clearly visible but we still need to work a lot on it. And before changing anyone else it's pertinent to change our mindset.
โI am not free while any woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from my own. And I am not free as long as one person of Color remains chained. Nor is anyone of you.โ - Audre Lorde
