We all  experience rancidity in our daily life.But,the foods which contain oil and fats are most reactive.Many big packaging suppliers are finding a newer ways to combat rancidity.

There are several ways by which we can protect our food from rancidity.One of the best method is to add anti oxidants in our food because when we add anti oxidant in our food then it acts as reducing agent and protect food from rancidity.In this way we can keep our food secure to eat for long time.Many big companies are already adding new variants on anti oxidants already.Some of the famous anti oxidants are BHA( Butylated Hydroxy Anisole) and another one is BHT( Butylated Hydroxy Toluene).These two are very effective anti oxidants.

We can also protect our food from rancidity with the help of nitrogen gas because nitrogen is very unreactive gas.So,when we add nitrogen in our food packets then it form a unreactive shield around it to protect from reactive gas like oxygen in the atmosphere.Hence, the nitrogen gas can help us to protect our food from rancidity.

We can also reduce the rate of rancidity by lowering the temperature of our food items because low temperature slows the rate of oxidation.That's why many people store their food in the refrigerator to protect from oxidation.

Air tight containers can also help us to secure our food because less air exposure means less oxygen exposure and we already know that only oxygen is responsible for oxidation.Hence,air tight containers help can also help us in reduction of oxidation.

Always try to protect food from direct exposure of sunlight because sunlight increases the temperature of food and also increases the rate of oxidation which means rancidity.
