The universe is all of space and time which includes planets, stars, galaxies and all other forms of energy. There are three types of universe which as follows:
1) A flat universe: It does not have any curvature.
2) An open universe: It have a curvature but it does not curve back on itself.
3) A closed universe: It also have a curvature but it curves back on itself.
What is Cosmology? Universe is also called as cosmos and it is a branch of physics that deals with nature of the universe and someone who study the nature and origin of universe are called cosmologists.
According to the Book of Genesis, God created the universe and all the heavenly bodies, the sun, the moon, and the stars - in six days. But according to contemporary cosmologists the universe began with a great explosion known as the Big Bang, after which the stars and galaxies slowly formed over billions of years.
The universe is 13.8 billion years old. Scientists measure the age of universe by measuring the age of oldest stars and their rate of expansion. It is also measured by observing the doppler shift in light from galaxies. The more it expands the more it move away from us.
The universe is made of matter and energy. All the stars, planets, comets, sea otters, black holes and dung beetles together represent less than 5 percent of the stuff in the universe. About 27 percent of the remainder is dark matter, and 68 percent is dark energy.
Galaxy: The galaxy is made up of stars and planets which is held together with the help of gravity. Milky way as we all know is one of the galaxy which contains earth. It is named so because a milky light which passes from one sky to another. Andromeda is one of the closest galaxy to earth which is spiral shaped and 2.5 million light years away from the earth.
Nature gives us many surprises, gifts and many puzzles to solve in our life. We should take care of our nature without destroying it and try to get benefits from it. When i try to write this blog i cross across many intresting things about the universe. It's just a beginning there are many wonders burried in the nature, if we start on it it's going on and on and it will never end. To be continued…………….
