Welcome again to my blog and thank you again for reading my previous blogs. And after all thank for coming to read this one as well.
This blog is about a surreal experience of a game which felt very much life-like.
Well, we all love to play games, don't we? Though the preference about the type of game may be different for different people. I like action and strategy games (most boys doβ¦π). I have played variety of games since the beginning but this one had a whole lot different experience hidden within it for me.
In the beginning, this game-Crysis 2 looked like a normal FPS (First Person Shooting) game but as I proceeded in it, it started to infiltrate more and more into my mind.
Generally my PC doesn't support high graphics games very well, so the frame per second drops, but this one ran surprisingly well.
The story of the game begins in Crysis 1 with an alien invasion. The aliens are called Cephs and according to the gardener theory given by Jacob Hargreave (a character of the game), the aliens had come to earth just to learn about and use its resources and humans were just a sort of interference in there work. So, earth was their garden and humans were weeds.
You have a highly advanced nanosuit built using the alien tissues by the CryNet Systems which allows you to execute some super-human traits like cloak, strength, speed etc.
The most alive part of the game are its disasters and situations like the seismic movements caused by the underground alien structures, the subsequent floods and Ceph Assaults which, along with the continued thrilling background music, make it all cinematic.
And as you can expect, who stands with the hero? Actually, not just the aliens but the humans as well are against you. Why? Because most humans are dead and the remaining some are hiding where the Cephs cannot find them. Only those who can fight them are out and all of them work under Jacob Hargreave, about whom I mentioned before. He is against us and just wants us killed to get the suit. And yes, the suit, once attatched to someone, can only be detatched by tearing the skin of the bearer apart using lasers, harsh isn't it?
Thank God! we have a friend named Nathan Gould, a kind of researcher. He has been helping us since the beginning.
Hey, I didn't tell you the name of the main character did I? Its interesting. In the beginning, you are told that you are Prophet. But once you manage to reach Nathan Gould, he shocks you by saying that you are not Prophet. Prophet was one of the suit bearer team and the whole team had already died in a war with the aliens. Who are you then?
You are Alcatraz, a military soldier who lay dying in the middle of the war. Prophet, who had got infected by the Cephs and was sure to die, found you and gave you his nanosuit so that you could finish the war.
A part of the game which I am sure of never forgetting is when I, alone had to face the biggest walking Ceph unit - The Ceph Pinger. Imagine yourself fighting with a devil. Yes, that's how it felt.
Let me tell you about the breathtaking last scene. The whole Central Park of New York, also being the central base of the Cephs, set to fly in the air. You, being the protagonist, have to land on the floating landmass and seep through the dense Ceph Army and destroy the Spear.
Tell me, what do people miss? It is generally some old memories, experiences and persons, or simply speaking, their past, right? I miss the game.
