WATER.... You often feel a thirst in throat, feel coldness in air when you listen this word. But do you know most of the people in India itself ;have to struggle for miles for a bucket of potable water. Does this last sentence really scares....Think of it!! The people who actually completing their thirst with required amount of water and the people who actually unknowingly wasting this treasure are really lucky people.
Our body 60-70% made up of water. Some reduction of percent of water in body and you started suffering with dehydration. What a Co incidence even then people are abide to run miles for their life for filling some empty tanks for some litres of water.
A latest report on water crisis in India states that around 2,00,000 of people die every year due to lack of access to safe potable water and moreover more than 50% of population has no reach to safe drinkable water. An another report states that if mitigation measures are not implemented India will face around 6% of loss in its gross domestic products by 2050 as it ranks on 120th place amongst 122 countries and having nearly 70% of water contaminated.
So these are some data as per the officials on global index. But do you really want to know where it come from not the data, I'm talking about water scarcity.....This problem is not by nature it is human generated issue. If we observe closely in the last 30-40 years on the name of development human fully cut his bond with nature. A report says due to increase in Urban Centres and dense population with high requirement of water for their cleaning, drinking and routine use consumption of water with water resources exceeded in limits mostly from ground water by means of borewells. In previous years before around 30-40 years man was nature friendly and was dependent on open wells, ponds and rivers and in return at the time he returns to these sources what it takes from them at the time of requirements. But now a days this relationship is totally broken and we are no more nature friendly. One of the biggest issue is pollution of water due to untreated sewage water and most of the small scale factories flow their waste irregulated water in ponds and rivers resultantly pollutes and contaminate it..... That's the exact reason for water scarcity what our coming generation is going to face.
So actually these were the consequences and reasons but what about solution?? Every problem has a solution with it, some solves lately and some soon but somehow every problem solves but the only requirement is dedication and willingness for solving issue. Hence this problem also has. The first and foremost solution is collection of water in surrounding areas in the form of ponds and natural water bodies with the help of rain water what we call Rain Water Harvesting. Educate people how they can stop improper and wastage of water in their routine. Educate society about waste water recycling, use of new water conservation technologies. Improve water usage in irrigation and agriculture so as to use water effectively.
The problems seems to be very simple to handle but if we don't implement it this can cause bigger problems. Think likewise about TREES... Man cut down trees and the oxygen which was free previously, is now on supply crisis....May be next could be POTABLE WATER and don't forget about thirst!!
Dear readers what you think about this water crisis and how we can prevent it to not to happen. Please give your suggestions in comment section.....
