Greetings to my amazing readers.

Today I thought of writing about the ‘what ifs’ in our life. All of us at one point or the other had to make decisions in life; some tough ones others simple , some significant ones others trivial. Most of the time these decisions are influenced by the people around us. They always tell us to convey the ethos. And sometimes in this giant hustle we forget what we actually want. We blindfold our eyes so that we don't see, become deaf to our own voices and opinions to meet the so called 'stereotype', the so called ‘norms’ of the community that we live in.

This becomes even harder, when it is a choice to make  between where we should be and where we want to be. And what if's are the worst end result. Living each day contemplating over things we could have done differently. Quoting John O Callaghan “The what if's and the should haves will eat your brain one day”.

As a matter of fact 20s is the time period where we are free to explore, free to make mistakes, free to quit, free to start over. This age opens us to a realm of vulnerability. It's not always easy to put ourselves out there. But taking risks is important. Vulnerability can be a gift. Yes, it can open us to pain or embarassment but can also bring us connection and acceptance. Atleast we will be responsible for our own decision. I have to admit that vulnerability scares me but it's necessary to ask the questions we are embarassed to ask, to give the answers we are afraid to say aloud and to take decisions that no one can understand except us. Ultimately it allows us to grow.

Yes there are days when I wake up and I can think of a million things I'd rather do than stand up for a decision that I think might be right for me, but I won't because the situations told me not to. But we can't retreat from it. Can we? We will never get anywhere if we go about what-ifing.

We should have the courage to face challenges head on, to take a leap of faith. Yes it is frightening, it is scary but thats the beauty of it. Isn't it?Because  without that leap we will never know what could be , will never know what we are capable of.

And I for one , can't wait to find out.
