Sushil Kumar is an Indian wrestler born on 26 May 1983. Kumar won Bronze medal in 2008 Beijing Olympic Game, Silver medal in 2012 London Olympic Games and Gold medal in 2014 Commonwealth Games. He was also seen in the MTV reality show MTV Roadies ×4 as one of the leader in the year 2016. For his achievement in Olympic Games Sushil Kumar was awarded with Khel Ratna and Arjuna award. Kumar was posted as Officer On Special Duty at Chhatrasal Stadium for the development of sports.

There was a arrest warrant issued against Sushil Kumar on 5th May 2021 for the murder of Sagar Dhankar on the night of 4th May. According to the sources there was clash between the two groups which resulted in the death of Sagar who was only 23 years old. Sushil was absconding since murder and was nowhere to be found. In order to arrest him as soon as possible the Delhi police had announced a cash reward of 1 Lakh for information of his whereabouts.

He was on run for 3 weeks and was finally found in outer Delhi Mundka area on 23rd May 2021 along with his associate and co-accused Ajay. After interrogating the accused , it was found that he was in touch with his associates through Telegram App and internet dongle while on run. According to sources Sushil is not cooperating with the interrogation and whenever asked about the murder scene he would start saying stories of his achievement. Police are looking for his clothes that he was wearing at the time of murder and his phone which he discarded before getting caught.

A total of 8 eyewitness have been gathered by the police and all of them have testified against Sushil. Two days back a video started trending where Sushil Kumar and his associates where seen beating Sagar. It is said that Sushil said his associates to make the video to create fear among other people who go against him. This video have totally changed the while scenario of the case.

Wrestling Federation of India commented saying that, “Indian wrestling image has been tarnished due to accusations against Sushil Kumar” and if he is found guilty in the murder case of Sagar Dhankar then Sushil Kumar’s Khel Ratna and Arjuna award will be taken back from him.

When investigation was done it was believed that Sushil Kumar have temper issues and often used to get in fights now and then. Apart from the Murder Charge he is also booked under section 201 for destroying CCTV footage of the crime scene.
