Previously on Sivagamiyin Sabadham, a young man named Paranjothi entered Kanchi city with the help of the Buddhist Monk. When Paranjothi was searching for the  Navukarasar Monastery, he heard people scream  "The temple elephant has lost control! Run! Run!".

Paranjothi was stunned for a moment.  While his mind was thinking about whether he should run and which side to run, his eyes noticed the events happening in front of him.  A palanquin was passing a short distance ahead of him on the street.  In it was a young woman who could be called Beautiful Angel and an older man who appeared to be her father.  Those who carried the palanquin heard the shouts and commotion behind them, put down the palanquin and scattered in all directions.  At the same time, an earth-shaking  rogue elephant came running behind him very nearly.

Observing all this, Paranjodi hesitated for a moment.  In the next moment, as it comes to a decision, he quickly put down the bundle in his hand and untied it hastily.  He took the shaft end from it and attached it to the end of the stick in his hand.  It is perfect time for him to hold attached spear in his right hand and for the rogue elephant to approach where he stood.  That's it!  Paranjodi threw the spear with all his might.  It hit near the elephant's left eye.  It was pierced into the thick skin of an elephant and went inside.  The elephant trumpeted once in terror.  The elephant snatched and  threw the spear by trunk and trampled under foot.  Then it turned to a side where young man was standing, who threw spear.

The young man was well aware of the consequences of throwing spear at a rogue elephant.  So, when he saw the elephant turning towards him, he started running fast in the opposite direction to where the palanquin was.  Before the elephant could turn its huge body around, he had run far away.  As he ran away, he looked back and saw an elephant rushing towards him.  He immediately started running in an alley he found there.  After running for a while without looking back, he found himself again in a wide large street.  He stepped aside to the side of the street, seeing five or six elephants coming swiftly in front of him, propelled by mahouts.  When he realized that these elephants were taken to calm down the rogue elephant, he stopped running and started walking slowly.

It was then that Paranjothi remembered his body's condition.  His chest was pounding.  The whole body was drenched with sweat.  Already, Paranjothi was tired from walking all day.  Now he was running so fast that he was very tired. His Legs limp and stumble.  Due to the internal agitation, his body trembled.  It seemed impossible to walk up without sitting down and resting a bit.  He went near a load bearer found on the side of the road and sat on it.

A full moon was shining in the sky.  The breeze gently blew on his exhausted body.  The tiredness of the body disappeared and the mind began to think.  "What did I come for? What did I do?"  When he thought that, Paranjothi himself was amazed. What reason at that time that made him throw spear on that rogue elephant? If  the elephant caught him, what would have been his fate?  Would he be able to see his beloved mother again?

The face of the young woman sitting in the palanquin and the face of the elder appeared in Paranjothi's mind.  Yes;  At that time he threw spear so that they would not be in danger because of the rogue elephant.  Who could they be? people were talking about the dance performance that was stopped in the middle, Perhaps that young woman is that Sivakami Amma!  Could the elder be her father Ayanar?

Thinking like this, Paranjothi leaned on the loadbearer's surface.  Unbeknownst to him, his eyelids closed.  He started to sleep.

Here ends the second chapter of first volume (Capital).
