Welcome or welcome back my dear bloggers to my daily blogs. I hope you all are at your best health and having a blast day.
Today we will be discussing about museums (boringgggπ ), it isn't, trust me?
The world's largest astronomy museum is about to open in Shanghai. The 420,000 square feet museum is the source to sight seeing the whole space in the night sky. The Science and Technology Museum in Shanghai opened its astronomy branch to the whole world on 16th july. It involves a planetariumπ«, a lot of space for astronomical exhibitions and even more, a 78 foot( 24 meter) solar telescope, that is so freaking cool.ππ
.
You might think βalright it is this biggest museum whatever, Whats unique in it thenβ¦?β
Firstly, there are not any straight lines or sharp corners anywhere on the entire site. In 2014, the museum authorities decided designs globally from designers and architects and finally selected Ennead Architects from U.S. for this masterpiece of a structure.
This structure's design has three main and attractive forms, an oculus, an inverted dome and the sphere, which represents orbital motion of the earth. The oculus is built into a 130 feet cantilever. This also works like a sundial, telling the time of the day( a bit old style, but looks cool). Enthusiasts of astronomy would also be able to guess the time of the season and solstice using these patterns of sunlight.
The sphere is an obsolute representation of all the bodies in space. Visitors are able to walk along the lower side of the sphere which also encases the planetarium of the museum.
The inverted dome is a huge structure of glass which allows the visitors to have an impeding view of the sky. The dome on the roof creates a sort of city blocking outdoor sky space where visitors can look up to the night sky avoiding the urbanites of Shanghai.
My opinion: I really love the architecture of it both, interior and exterior. I also love the idea of what it represents. It is not only the worlds largest museum, but also modern, i like that part. But i just am not a huge fan of museums, so i personally wouldn't wanna visit cuz it is a museum, but would definitely visit for its aesthetic.
So that's all for today, guys. I hope you find it informational.
Let me know what you guys think of this.
