Today we will be discussing about a human nature that is often referred as weakness. Emotional Vulnerability, often seen as weakness, is actually one of the highest forms of strength. Having the courage to show up, express your authentic self, and be seen regardless of the outcomes, it takes a lot of courage.
Vulnerability is often stereotyped with genders. You may have experienced it at least once in your life from strangers, friends or even yohr own family. If you are a man, you are not expected to be vulnerable, you must be strong. And if you are a woman then you are already considered weak and vulnerable from your birth who needs someone to protect at all times. Rather than associating it with the nature of humans, we have distanced ourselves to the very thought of being human.
When we are vulnerable, we allow ourselves to connect with each other on an empathetic level. This connection can bring healing, love, friendship, and many other beautiful things that life has to offer. This is why discernment over who you allow into your circle is very influential and important.
The power of emotional vulnerabilityβ¦..
Vulnerability helps build trust and intimacy in any relationship, whether platonic or romantic. It also helps to improve your self awareness. When you know your emotions and are understanding towards them, you can learn a lot about your own behaviours and weaknesses and you can decide to hide or embrace them.
There is this technique I recently learned about meditation called labeling. It is concerned with focusing on your emotions and labeling them as per their importance, no matter how bad or good thet are. As there are also emotions which makes you feel sad or angry. You dont need to resist them, know that it is okay to feel that way, it is humanly. And then after some practice you will grab a hold on your emotions.
I am currently learning and it has helped me to express what i need to and hide emotions what i want to hide.
And also, you can write everything down, whatever is in your mind. Just pour it out and let go of that overwhelming feeling.
