A beautiful novel that recognizes and explores the darkness that lies beyond a white community with an emotional detachable resonance.
9. Dont say we didnt warn you by Ariel Delgado Dixon.
Two sisters diverge and intersect through this story about trauma and tragedy.
8. Devil House by John Darnielle.
It depicts true crime author investigating an unsolved double homicide committed in the satanic panic in 1980s.
7. Good rich people by Eliza Jane Brazier.
The rich's lifestyles are different than the rest of us. It is a psychological thriller story showing Lyla, who always believed the life to be a game fated to win but her husband, graham, desires to play this game called life on some serious dangerous levels.
6. Notes on the execution by Danya Kukafka.
A person about to die in the next 12 hours, Ansel Packer. A great breathtaking suspense with unbelievable empathy.
5. How high we go in the dark by Sequoia Nagamatsu.
When a new plague gets released by an archeologist, it changes the course of history. This story teaches us beautifully on how the human spirit continues to persevere through it all.
4. Sh*t Cassandra saw: stories by Gwen E. Kirby.
Cassandra can see the future and sees the stories told by women of their triumphs as well as their sufferings.
3. 30 things i love about myself.
A great book by Radhika Sanghani showing a writer nina moving back with her depressing brother and her unbearable mother. But she reads a book in a jail on her 30th birthday, she goes through a journey of self love.
2. The school for good mothers by jessamine chan.
It revolves around a woman, Frida, sentenced to a period at a facility made for the mothers accused of parental infractions.
1. Fiona and Jane by Jean Chen Ho
Story about two best friends, fiona and jane, going through their teenage years and lonely pathways.
