Welcome or welcome back my dear bloggers to my daily blogs. I hope you all are in good health and are havi g a  last of a day.

In greek mythology, the Myth of Sisyphus or Sisyphos is quite popular.

Sisyphus was the son of Aeolus, the King of Thessaly and Enarete. He married the Pleiad and became the father of Glaucus, Almus, Sinon, porphyrion, Thersander and Ornytion. Sisyphus was the founder and also the king of Corinth (Ephyra). King Sisyphus promoted navigation but was a decietful king. He invited guests to kill them in their palace, which was a violation of Xenia. And that angered the gods. He took pleasure with these killings as it made him feel in power and in rule.

Sisyphus had a brother named Salmoneus who used to hate each other. Sisyphus planned many plans, in one of them, he seduced salmoneus' daughter Tyro.

Sisyphus cheats death…

He revealed one of the Zeus' secrets by revealing the whereabouts of Aegina to her father, Asopus the river god, in return for a spring to come in Corinthia. After this betrayal, Zeus ordered Thanatos to chain sisyphus. Sisyphus smartly asked Thanatos to show how the chains worked as his last wish. But sisyphus trapped thanatos with chains instead. And so no one died on Earth, as Thanatos was bound to chains. This angered ares that his enemies won't die and so he freed Thanatos and caught Sisyphus. In some other versions it was Hades who got outsmarted and chained by Sisyphus.

Sisyphys' punishment.

As a punishment for sisyphus' trickery, Hades made him role a huge boulder up a steep hill. The maddening of this punishment was justifiable due to his cleverness that surpassed and tricked Zeus. Hades, in turn, showed his cleverness by enchanting the huge boulder to roll away from sisyphus before it reached the top. And he kept on rolling the boulder to the top over and over and over again endlessly. And so sisyphus became an example for a lot of people to not give in to disappointments or try to escape from the failure, instead accept these failures the same way we accept our achievements.

And the term “ Sisyphean” was described as pointless task that can never be completed.

That is all for this blog. I hope you all enjoyed the story. Thank you for reading so far…
