Welcome or welcome back my dear bloggers to my daily blogs. I hope you all are in good health and are having a blast of a day.

Astronomy is a quite interesting thing which has a lot of mythologies and stories of its origin. Mysteries and stories are hidden behind the galaxies and stars of this infinite space. Human give their best to understand the concepts of these nights.

In this blog, we will talk about the mythological stories behind the constellations and its origin.

○ Andromeda, Cassiopeia and Perseus.

Andromeda, a beautiful daughter of the king Cepheus and the queen Cassiopeia of Ethiopia. The queen claims that their daughter is more beautiful than the sea nymphs. This claim angers Poseidon, the sea god, and he threatens to unleash a monster and floods to Ethiopia. To save the kingdom, Andromeda is tied to sacrifice to the monster. Perseus, sailing through, gets enchanted by the beauty of Andromeda. He asks for the permission of her parents to marry her and kills the beast  to claim his bride.

Upon hearing this, Athena placed andromeda right next to Perseus in the skies. Poseidon also places Cassiopeia in the heavens, and hangs her upside down as a punishment for her sins.

○ Orion and Scorpius.

A poor shephard Herius' son was King Orion. Once, herius' house stops Posiedon, Zeus nad Hermes. Herius was unaware of the identity of his guests and yet he killed the only animal he had, an ox, to feed them. The gods offered herius a wish and he asked for a child. They told him to bury the hide of the bull he had sacrifice and after 9 months, a son would be born. The child born, Orion, grew up to be a handsome and powerful man. He promised to kill every wild animal on earth but the mother of all animals, Goddess Gaia, was not happy with his actions.

And so Gaia sent a giant scorpion to kill Orion. As soon as orion realised that his strength is useless against the scorpion, he tries to escape but is killed by the scorpion. The goddess Gaia placed the scorpion as a constellation which always chases after Orion who is also placed in the skies.

And thats all for this blog. We'll surely talk about more constellations in the future blogs. I hope you liked this one. And thank you reading this far…..
