Hi again! Welcome or welcome back my dear bloggers to my daily blogs. I hope you all are in good health and are having a blast of a day.
Yet again, i am back with a blog filled with mythology and legends. So today, we will be discussing a bit about celtic mythology, which is known for its legends and various mythical creatures.
For the ancient people, the forests and the soods were considered as a home for fairies and elves. They used to roam around through trees and streams and used to take care of the soil fertilization and the protection of the jungle. But not all creatures were so kind and gentle, people could unfortunately find a terrible monster known as BANSHEE. Banshee's are evil mythical creatures that come from the very own and kind fairy family. But unlike them, banshee's lived in deep dark caves or corners of the forest. Usually they tried to avoid any contact with human beings, but they punished those who crossed their domains. The Bansgee's used to look like a thin tall pale morbid woman wearing ragged dress. But their loud screams were the most terrifying part. Their screams had the power to puncture the ear drums or even a humans skull.
Their origin remains unknown but there is a believe that they appear in a world when a young woman is murdered. For this reason, their symbols remain pain and suffering. Another legend states that they were descendants or servants of Morrigan, the goddess of war and destruction. So the banshee's appeared in wars. When a brave soldier was slaughtered, they release their long sad bellow. It is also believed that in 1437, a banshee arrived before Kim James the first of scotland to warn him about his death. Importance of banshees was so huge in the Celtic mythology, that a belief arose that they were there to protect the ireland's five noble families. They would only cry and shed tears if one of the noblemen died.
With the upcoming of Christianity, belief of the banshees changed. They became the suffering souls roaming around in places like cemeteries or ruins of an old abandoned castle. In modern times, their origin is believed to revolve around the concept of owl screams.
So that was all for this blog, guys. I hope you all liked and enjoyed it.
