Purpose is when we find a meaning in life. It obviously may involve your career or job or even love and family.Having a purpose in life can strengthen your binds with your path and eventually with your ultimate goal.

Today we will discuss a bit about a topic i learned from a great book known as IKIGAI, i am sure you must have heard this book. We will be discussing about logo therapy. Let us see the definition of the term โ€œ logotherapyโ€ - it is a therapeutic practice that helps people in finding the personal meaning in individual's life. It is sort of a psycho therapy which focuses on the future and on our ability to endure tension, hardship and suffering by searching a purpose in life.

Logo therapy can be used to treat a wide range of issues that exists in reality. More like, logo therapy is considered to be effective in the treatment of any substance abuse, ptsd (post traumatic stress), depression and even anxiety disorder.

By focusing on the spirit, the therapy helps you to tend to the basic needs of purpose in humanity. It was developed by Victor Frankl. His therapies were influenced by his own personal experiences of grief and sorrow in Nazi concentration camps.

Techniques of logo therapyโ€ฆ.

  • Dereflection: it is used when you are highly self absorbed on any issue. By distracting or by dereflecting their focus away from themselves, the person is be able to become whole by caeing and thinking about others also.
  • Paradoxical intention: This technique includes revealing you most feared thing. For those who suffer with anxiety or phobias, that fear can paralyze them. So by removing their fears from their intention, it relieves that anxiousness connected with it.
  • Socratic dialogue:  this is a technique where the therapist uses the persons own words to help them out with their self discover. By patiently listening what the person has to say, the therapist points out some specific patterns in their words and sentences, then they let the client see the new perspective and a new meaning in them.
