A Way To Avoid Addiction

Welcome or welcome back my dear bloggers to my daily blogs. I hope you all are in good health and are having a blast of a day.💙

We will be talking a bit about something known as a dopamine detox. Lets define the dopamine detox first.

It is a term that is getting popular on the internet in recent times, which really means just to control yourself from production of dopamine, which is responsible for inducing pleasure in your minds. It is considered to be effective to replace short term rewards with long term benefits even for good. 

Dopamine detox involves one to fast from certain addictive behaviours, from something like alcohol addiction to even as simple as over binge usage of the internet. During this process, the user tries to avoid the dopamine triggers for some time period. The prime purpose of this process is to make yourself more involved in activities that actually matter in the long run. For example, trying to learn how to drive instead of watching some tv. Or even as simple as going out for a walk instead of being obsessed over some pictures of Ferrari from your uncle…. I know it doesn't make much sense but you got it.

How to do it??

To start off, you should try practicing this for as less as 7 days. Make a list for the things that you intend to avoid like No social media, No gaming, No netflix, No fastfood and anything else you want to avoid. 

I can understand that many people can't really avoid social media as it might be some source of income or work for them, but try to avoid unnecessary scrolling and log in only when you need it. 

Finally, after those 7 days, it would feel like you would be meditating for 7 days straight. You will start thinking clearer and better. Your focus will be dramatically magnified. You will notice that your productivity is increased. 

You might feel some craving through all those 7 days detoxification. But keep your discipline and determination sharp, and you would develop your desired habits eventually. Only 7 days might not be enough for a life long effect, but it will surely prepare you mentally and physically to be better than you are.
