It is crystal clear that adults always exhibit a flair to this mouth watering dish ,But what about kids ? Nowadays kids always prefer junk food and completely avoid eating rice. The herculean task faced by mothers of today's kids is to make the child eat nourished food .This blog might be helpful to young mothers .I can assure not only adults but also kids will eat food passionately…
Ingredients :
Basmati rice - 1 cup
Chopped /Grated carrot - ½ cup
Chopped/Grated beetroot-½ cup
Peas-¼ cup
Onion(Large size)-1
Tomatoes-2
Panneer-¼ cup
Ginger, garlic paste - 1 spoon
Mint, Coriander and Curry leaves (mashed)- 2 spoons
Spices :
1 bay leaf
1 inch cinnamon
3 green cardamom
3 cloves
½ teaspoon cumin seeds
PROCEDURE :
Pour ghee or oil in the kadai to saute the spices. Ghee is more preferable as it is to be consumed by kids.I t will be more aromatic as well. After the spices crackle ,add the onions and saute well till they turn golden brown and they get rid of the raw smell. Add 1 teaspoon of ginger garlic paste to enhance the aroma. You can add the tomatoes until they turn mushy. Its time to add the veggies now.I would suggest to grate carrot and beetroot so that it looks colourful and appealing for the kids to eat.
Having added, saute the veggies on a medium flame. Add the mashed coriander, curry and mint leaves. The reason for adding the mashed leaves is not only for nutrition. It also gives a different colour to the briyani. Now comes the vital part of including the masala powders. Add chilli powder, garam masala powder as per your child's taste and requirement. While some kids prefer spicy foods whereas others like to have food with moderate spicy taste. So its upto the mothers to add the spices according to their child's taste..
You can add paneer towards the last as it turns very mushy and overcooked if added initially. Pour water and add salt and the required rice. After your cooker whistles twice, you can switch off ..Any yeah its time to witness a vibrant briyani and consume it along with your family..
Have a good appetite !!!
