๐นDesignate 7 to 9 pm on one day of the week as Happy Hours-no fights, no complaints, no homework. A do-what- to-you-want-to-do
time provided it does not include sitting like a zombie in front of the television!
๐นEncourage hobbies-collecting coins, stamps, or even leaves anything that can be put into a scrap book.
๐นlf your child shows a special talent, make sure to foster it in whatever manner you think suitable, for instance, through special classes
or by providing material they might need to develop the talent (for example, a musical instrument).
๐นIf your child expresses an interest in some extra-curricular activity, allow her to experiment-the exposure would stimulate the child's mind and broaden her faculties.
๐นDo not always expect a tangible benefit from the activities a child engages in-a happy smile should be reward enough.
๐นWatch a stimulating television programme together (for example, a programme on wildlife). Explain the difficult parts. Encourage your child to share her thoughts about the programme.
๐นGo for a walk after dinner sometimes-look at the stars and discuss how everything looks
different at night.
๐นGet permanent markers and let your child decorate her own t-shirt. She will enjoy wearing her own creation.
๐นChop and cut the ingredients needed to make a pizza or sandwiches. Invite your child's
close friends over-let them put together a ๐ pizza.
๐นTake out old photograph albums (from as far back as possible-pictures of grandparents, etc.) and share them with your child. Let her
select a few favourites and make a scrapbook of photographs down the years.

HAPPY JOURNEY
๐Before a car journey, long or short, pack a tiffin box with dry, easy-to-eat snacks that a child can munch on the way. Carry a water bottle and napkins or wet wipes as well.
๐Don't stuff your child with food before a journey-it aggravates car sickness.
๐Before a long journey, make sure your child is comfortably clothed, keeping the weather in mind.
๐Keep a change of clothing handy-from spilt water to vomiting-anything can happen!
๐To keep your child from getting bored on a long journey, improvise games like counting red cars on the road, adding up the numbers on the number plates of cars in front of you, or playing memory games.
๐Encourage your child to entertain herself during a journey by appreciating the scenery or looking out for animals, trees and flowers
from the window.
๐Keep a couple of favourite toys handy, preferably hard and durable ones.
๐Play music your child likes-don't get impatient with repeat demands!
๐Keep a pillow and sheet handy-if your child takes a comfortable nap, she will be rested and happy! Do make sure you have her secured properly so she doesn't fall off the
seat and hurt herself if the vehicle suddenly brakes.
