These days my love for lip care is bubbling up and oozing out. I am getting just obsessed with lip care; lip scrubbing, lip balming, lip oiling and what not (chuckles). So, I decided to blog about a lip care product that I have a deep-set love for in order to share this love with y'all.
It's the (drum-rollll) Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask.
Oh my god Never before had I ever used a lip product as effective as this! It's such a heavy duty stuff giving amazing visible results. It's a beautiful beautiful luxurious product!
Getting into the nitty gritty details, Laneige is a South Korean Company. Be informed that Koreans continue to be on their best beauty game and Korean recipes and skin care is becoming the new hype. (brands like Klairs, COSRX, Innisfree, The Face Shop, Laneige and many more)
It's a non-tinted, subtly-smelling lip mask, which one is required to apply during night-time before going to bed. It is partially occlusive and doesn't feel very heavy on the lips. But it does sit on the lips and remain there easily for about 6-8 hours while you're getting your zzzs.
It has Laneige's patented moisturize technology, hydro ion mineral water, primrose root extract, hunza apricot extract in dense beta-glucan moisture film. Furthermore, it has berry mix complex, providing vitaminC and anti-oxidant properties.
It comes in three variants, grapefruit, apple-lime and berry. Berry variant comes in two sizes. 8ml and 20ml retailing for 500 and 1150 rupees respectively.
Now I have used a lot of drug store kind, be it from Himalaya, Lotus, Maybelline, Lakme and one from Blue Heaven. Also, how can I forget Vaseline and borolineβ the basics. But none of them is as perfect as the Laneige one. They'd just sit on your lips for maximum of an hour and then disappear without doing anything for the dry/chapped lips. Anything that came close to healing dry chapped lips was the boroline. But the only downside was it's thick creamy texture and it's smell, which made me quite uncomfortable for daily usage to be honest. Good skincare products aren't suppose to have strong fragrances. And personally I don't like such skin care products.
I would just say, in hindsight, investing in something that's actually going to work is much much better than spending 100, 200 rupees on something, well, that doesn't or wouldn't work. This holy grail lip mask literally melts out stubborn dead skin cells from the lips and enriches it with abundant moisture. Coat your dry/chapped lips with this deep conditioning lip balm at night and you'll wake to a smooth and supple one.
The moment you apply it, it gives a watery like shiny and luminous finish. And gradually, as it gets absorbed into the lips you'd feel the difference in its texture and the lips will feel firmer, plumper and fuller. It can be easily used as a lip balm during the day but I'd recommend using it as its name suggests, i.e., during the night, to reap maximum benefit. And it'll give you a smooth base to apply lipstick the next day, and if you're not a fan of lipstick, you can apply a tinted/non-tinted s.p.f. chap stick.
I have been using this for 2 years now and somehow I am sure it's going to last me two years more. There's so much of it left. Very Little goes a very long way in case of this product. Every rupee worth spent! Get it now and start using it. Give your lips the royal treatment they deserve! You'll thank me later as I am sure you'll fall in love with it as I did.
PS: Do scrub your lips from every alternate day to at least thrice a week before applying the lip mask at night. It gives way to a cleaner and smoother base for the lip mask application. I am in fact planning to share my two favorite DIY summer and winter lip scrub recipes with y'all soon.
